Nba playoffs game 1
With so many fans (as well as superstitious athletes) concerned about the Madden cover jinx, Electronic Arts may have found a way around the issue by simply picking poster boys for its products that are already experiencing a stretch of bad luck. This weekend EA unveiled the already unfortunate cover athlete for its upcoming NBA Live 08: Gilbert Arenas, all-star guard of the Washington Wizards. The Wizards are on the brink of being swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight in the first round of the NBA playoffs after an unlucky April sidelined two of the team's top three scorers. The team's all-star forward Caron Butler started the month by breaking a bone in his hand, quickly followed by a season-ending knee injury suffered by Arenas. "It makes my whole rehabbing that much better now," wrote Arenas in his NBA.com blog. "Because while rehabbing, all I'm thinking about is, 'I'm on the cover of Live.'" After describing the honor as being "better than a Wheaties box," Arenas … [Read more...] about Gilbert Arenas nets NBA Live 08 cover
In a lot of ways, NBA 2K18 is more show than substance. While MyCareer has seen a big aesthetic improvement in terms of the new Neighborhood shared world and more involved cut-scenes, the core gameplay is still the same. Add to that the fact that, at every opportunity, it feels like developer Visceral Games is telling you that you have to spend money to make money, and you begin to feel like you’re spending more time on the bench than on the court. It doesn’t help that the other basketball game is better than it’s been in a while and, in some ways, more fun to play. To be fair, NBA Live 18 stole a lot from NBA 2K18, right down to its basic controls, to regain its reputation as a respectable basketball sim. And while NBA Live 18 has its own philosophy towards microtransactions, it never lost sight of its commitment to making its core gameplay fun. The same can’t be said about NBA 2K18.Offense is as fun as ever in the latest NBA 2K game. That’s because it was … [Read more...] about NBA 2K18 review
Because NBA basketball games feature competing titles from both EA Sports and 2K Sports, there is always a great deal of anticipation to see how they evolve from year to year. Although we have yet to see what headway 2K has made on NBA 2K9 (besides getting Kevin Garnett on the cover), we recently had a chance to check out NBA Live 09 at EA's spring press event and, again this week to get some hands-on time with the latest build. Although some of the major additions to the game are still under wraps, we do have the green light to break down how NBA Live 09's presentation, controls, and gameplay feel this year. From the loading screen alone, it's obvious that EA intends to bring more life to the practice sessions that precede the game. Gone is the solitary half-court shoot around; in its place is a full training facility complete with two full courts, as well as fellow teammates practicing their jump shooting, ball-handling skills, and of course, their dunking. The addition of the … [Read more...] about NBA Live 09 Hands-On
One of the standout features in NBA Live 09 is its Dynamic DNA system, which takes data based on the real-world performance of individual NBA players and integrates it into the game. This means that in-game players benefit (or suffer, in some cases) from the performance of their real-life counterparts over the course of the actual NBA season, so if Kobe Bryant changes up his game and posts up more, taking fewer outside jumpers, then the in-game Kobe reflects that change. It's an interesting feature and one that's begging for greater integration in the NBA Live series, which is exactly what EA Sports is doing with NBA Live 10 and the new Dynamic Season mode. But the impetus for creating Dynamic Season also stems from watching how people play NBA Live. "Dynasty modes have been a part of sports games for a long time. We've found there's a percentage of people who play Dynasty mode and focus on year one, or focus on keeping their team up with real life," says Garreth Reeder, producer on … [Read more...] about NBA Live 10 Dynamic Season Hands-On
2K Sports has announced a new patch for NBA 2K18. Out now on PlayStation 4 and due soon for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, the patch adds new content, and also makes changes and fixes many bugs. Starting with the new content this update adds "classic" uniforms for the Buckets, Hornets, Lakers, and Suns.Additionally, five new shoes are now in the game, including Lonzo Ball's Big Baller Brand's ZO2: Prime, along with the Kobe A.D. NXT, among others. The new customisation options don't end there, however, as 18 new beard styles (!!!) are added, along with a pair of moustaches. There are also eight facial stubble styles you can choose from.As for gameplay changes, 2K has introduced "more variety to the types of injuries that can occur in-game." Thankfully, 2K did not go into further specifics. We hope a Kevin Ware-style injury is not among the new additions. Please no. In other injury update news, the number of left ankle injuries is now "greatly reduced" in user-played games. Yes, … [Read more...] about NBA 2K18 Update Released, See The Patch Notes Here
The NBA Playoffs get underway in 90 minutes with Washington at Toronto, and if you're a betting person, NBA 2K15 says lay your money on the Golden State Warriors to win their first title since Rick Barry was making granny-shot free throws in 1975.2K Sports' basketball simulation calls for Golden State to prevail in six games against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, with sharpshooter supreme Steph Curry (pictured) taking NBA Finals MVP honors.NBA 2K15 says Cleveland's road goes through 5-game victories over Boston (first round) and Chicago (second) before a six-game upset of top-seeded Atlanta in the conference finals. The Warriors, meanwhile, dispose of New Orleans in 5, the Portland Trail Blazers in 6, and go the distance against San Antonio in the Western Conference finals. The full bracket predicted by NBA 2K15 is below. This is an admittedly unscientific prediction model, but sports video games have still had a good run at forecasting their leagues' postseason. With the Golden State Warriors finishing the 2015-16 basketball season last week with the best record in NBA history at 73-9, the makers of NBA 2K16 turned their minds to a question that only a video game can answer: How would this year's Warriors squad fare against some of the best teams ever to step onto an NBA court?NBA 2K16 developer Visual Concepts pitted the Warriors against three of the all-time greatest NBA teams: the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls, which previously had the best regular-season record ever at 72-10; the 2000-01 Los Angeles Lakers, which hold the mark for the best playoff record in history at 15-1; and the 2005-06 Miami Heat, which were led by Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade. (Obviously, there are many other great squads in NBA history, but those three are all playable in NBA 2K16.)Only one of those classic teams was able to defeat the 2015-16 Warriors in a seven-game series simulated in NBA 2K16: the Lakers squad, which featured Shaq in his prime alongside a … [Read more...] about Which of the NBA’s all-time greatest teams could beat the Golden State Warriors?

This time the Warriors Do Not Blow a 3-1 Lead and instead prevail in a seven-game series 4-3.More interesting is how everyone gets there: NBA 2K17 says all seeds 5 and lower lose in the first round of both conference playoffs.
